CEO of Sony Ericsson Bert Nordberg recently revealed a shocking detail, stressing that Google had first picked Ericsson as the handset manufacturer fir its Nexus One mobile phone.
All thanks to the brand value which is associated with the giant handset maker, Ericsson refused to be rendered to a mere contract maker of the phone and refused to work with the search engine major.
HTC then stepped in as the Nexus One maker, and also ended up manufacturing the Desire, HTC's own version of the Google phone.
After the revelation, experts are throwing substantial criticism towards Sony, stressing that the company should have thought about its current position before turning down an offer which could be one of the most lucrative that the firm had ever bagged.
As of now, however, it seems that Ericsson is all set to emerge as a competitor to the Nexus One with its Xperia X10.
