Health departments across Genesee and Wyoming counties have now started closing their walk-in flu clinics, but the general public can still can a free vaccination shot by appointment.
The main reason for the change is that the number of people coming in at the open clinics has steeply gone down, as has been shared by the officials. Also, public health officials have recommended that all those people who have not received vaccines against the H1N1 or seasonal flu should do so as soon as possible.
"Actually, both of them, it's not too late", said Genesee County Interim Public Health Director Randy Garney.
Genesse County has been running open clinics on Thursdays from 2 to 4 PM, at the health department offices in County Building 2.
All those looking to fix an appointment to receive the vaccines can call 344-2580, Ext. 5000.
