Life Saving Transplants Lead to Couple's Wedding

30 year old Fiona Edwards, the receipt of a kidney transplant, was introduced to her 29 year old husband Jonathan just when he was about to receive his own kidney transplant about 4 years back.

When the lady first met him to let him know what to expect from the surgery, she ended up falling in love with the gentle and lovable truckie.

"We sort of got together for a coffee and became friends and that. We became soulmates", Fiona shared.

It was an adventures, says Fiona, and something she had never imagined would happen for her about a decade ago, when she was surviving on a dialysis machine for as many as 8 hours a day, for 14 long months.

"I've had my transplant for 10 years. When you're 19-20, you think I've got to get a transplant, and it will be OK. After the transplant, the first thing they said to me was this is not a cure, you've got to think of it as a holiday from dialysis", the bride said.

Jonathan and Fiona tied the knot in August last year and honeymooned in Fiji and southeast Queensland.
