First Lady Starts “Let’s Move” Campaign

The main theme of the National Governor's Association, which assembles in Washington to discuss issues affecting States, this year, is health care.

The first lady Michelle Obama addressed the Governors and told that Health Care reform should begin at home with children's health.

"There's no place for politics when it comes to fighting childhood obesity", she told launching her new campaign on obesity, namely "Let's Move".

Mrs. Obama reminded the state officials that childhood obesity was not a problem brought on by lazy children and at the same time, she stressed a low-cost approach to the problem, acknowledging the financial bind which many of the States were in.

The First Lady's campaign which has four key components include helping parents make healthier choices for their kids, serving healthier food in the nation's schools, ensuring that all families have access to healthy, affordable food and encouraging children to exercise more.

Mrs. Obama wants to make sure that the money and program is there to keep kids healthy by hoping that with this program, the Governors can work together to combat the national health issue.
