Apart from the numerous health benefits green tea can offer, it can also help in Glaucoma prevention.

Green tea has been for long an important topic of study at the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry. It was found after a research that antioxidants present in green tea could help protect against eye diseases such as glaucoma.

Eyes absorb catechins that are found in green tea. Researchers believe that these catechins could prove useful in preventing against the oxidation that causes various eye ailments.

Presently green tea is believed to help initiate weight loss, cancer prevention, and depression.

Chi Pui Pang and colleagues from the Chinese University of Hong Kong after conducting a study found that green tea compounds helped in reducing oxidative stress in the eye for up to 20 hours.

Experts however state that it was important to consult your doctor apart from having green tea.
