Bloom Energy’s Bloom Box Already a Success

Bloom Energy that has raised nearly $400 million from investors like Kleiner Perkins for it's a fuel cell device, Bloom Box, costing $700,000 to $800,000. This product can power about 100 American homes and is twice as effective as natural gas power supplied through the framework and aim at producing "clean energy".

These boxes till now have been bought by renowned companies including Google, eBay, FedEx, WalMart and Staples. eBay claims to have that after 5 of the boxes were installed, they have managed to save $100,000 in electricity costs. The boxes, according to eBay are capable of generating power even more than the 3,000 solar panels at its headquarters.

Permitting 60 Minutes walk through of this facility, Bloom has finally exposed its operation to the press. Company is also arranging interviews with the CEO of eBay and former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Bloom intends to lessen the price to $3000 and reduce the size of the box in order to make it affordable by every American. This bloom box consists of a heap of ceramic disks with Methane and oxygen heated up to 1,000 Celsius thereby producing electricity.
