A call for the Federal Government's home insulation program to be delayed was made after Peter Garrett's Department was given a "risk register".
The risk register prepared by Minter Ellison, highlights a range of potential problems with the insulation scheme and describes some of the Government's responses to be "weak".
The Federal Opposition Leader Tony Abbott asked Mr. Garrett to resign, after the tragic incident relating to the insulation scheme claimed four deaths and reported more than 90 fires.
Mr. Garrett has offered safety inspections for 15% of homes with pink batts.
But a firm Mr. Garrett said, "I will continue to exercise my duties diligently as Minister for the Environment".
"These are people's lives at stake and you show no remorse, you show no concern and you show no urgency about anything except saving your own hide", Mr. Abbott , the Opposition Minster said.
The Government was scrapping the $2.5 billion insulation program in order to replace it with another similar scheme.
Many angry Insulation Installers gathered outside Mr. Garrett's Sydney office in Maroubra and demanded compensation, saying the program has put tens of thousands of jobs at risk across the country.
