A group promoting atheism has shared that after having raised thousands of dollars to display advertisements on buses, NZ Bus is now refusing to allow them on their vehicles.
Chances are that the Atheist Bus Campaign will now take the issue to the Human Rights Review Tribunal.
The group has managed to raise over $22,000 since the whole campaign started late last year, in the hopes of displaying its message on buses across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
The group has revealed that NZ Bus had, at first, tentatively agreed to the displaying of advertisements, but then rejected the same. The message to be displayed was - "There's probably no God so stop worrying and enjoy life".
In its defense, NZ Bus has said that the advertisements were rejected as it did not want to display something so controversial on its vehicles. No other comments have been shared by the group yet.
