With the increase in the sales of its Kmart stores, Sears Holdings' fourth-quarter profits have risen to $430 million.
Sears' total revenue dropped from $33 million to $13.2 billion, in the fourth quarter as the 1.7% increase in Kmart comparable-store sales was compensated by a drop of 6.1% in comparable-store sales at Sears Domestic outlets. The earnings per share rose to $3.69, compared to $2.94, a year ago,
Since 2006, Sears' has witnessed such a strong result for the first time.
