As the pilots have agreed to halt their strike, Lufthansa has indicated the possibility of restoration of its regular flight schedule by the end of this week.
"Of course it takes some time until the planes are back at all 200 locations that the Lufthansa network comprises around the world, and the crews need to be positioned again, too", said Lufthansa's Spokesman Klaus Walther .
The workers feared that the company's decisions of cost-cutting by 2011 may reduce Lufthansa-Classic unit, thereby compromising on the level of salaries and securities of the workers.
"We're still operating an emergency flight schedule today but will be able to add extra services between cities such as Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg and Munich. From tomorrow, the system will start to normalize and we're aiming to return to full capacity by Friday", said Walther.
The workers' union has put off the strike till March 8th.
Following this, Lufthansa's stocks rose by 2.3%.
