Designer Rohit Bal Suffers a Heart Attack on Tuesday

The well known fashion designer Rohit Bal suffered a heart attack Tuesday and has been admitted to Medanta Medicity in Gurgaon, a source close to the designer revealed.

Bal, 42, is reportedly suffered from a attack at his Defence Colony residence and was initially taken to Aashlok Hospital in Safdarjung Enclave in South Delhi. He was later shifted to Medicity, where he had to undergo angioplasty
- a technique used for mechanically widening a narrowed or obstructed blood vessel.

Bal, widely known named as 'Gudda' in the fashion industry, has been called as master of fabric and fantasy.

In addition, he designs outfits for numerous Bollywood celebrities, Bal also possesses international clients like Uma Thurman, Cindy Crawford, Pamela Anderson, Naomi Campbell and Anna Kournikova.

According to Medicity's Chairman Naresh Trehan, who is also a well-known cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeon quoted, "He is recovering well. It is too early to talk about his exact condition. He will be kept under medical observation for a minimum of two-three days."

Bal is also brand ambassador of Omega watches since 2001 and has ventured into the hotel business by launching two restaurants - Veda and Cibo - in the capital.
