President Obama has presented a new health care proposal hoping to win bipartisan support.
With $1 trillion, it aims at a health care marketplace for consumers to choose their best option and intends to extend coverage to 31 million Americans who are uninsured.
Pomeroy said that he has reviewed the President`s plan but will reserve judgment until the bipartisan health care convention later this week. He hopes that lawmakers can find common ground there.
"I certainly hope Congress just doesn`t throw up its hands and walk away from it altogether. I hope we can find a way to work together and come up with some answers that in the end are going to be appreciated by the American people", he added.
However, the Republicans find themselves in a difficult situation since they cannot accept any part of this trillion-dollar proposal, but cannot reject it as a whole.
Meanwhile, the proposal has not gone well with the common man. People feel that in a time when the public is worrying endlessly about federal spending and deficits, the price tag for proposal is $75 billion, more than that of the Senate bill.
The proposal by President Obama targets at health insurance. But people are already burdened with the rising insurance costs and now an additional premium would put them under lot of pressure.
