A bunch of grandfathers in Brisbane have dropped their clothes campaigning for bowel cancer awareness.
The video, You are Never too Young, posted on YouTube, features the backsides of four men aged 50 to 80 and a toned woman in her 40s.
Video star, John Kolcze, 61 said that from 40 years onwards, people are at greatest risk of developing the nation's second deadliest cancer.
Using the modern medium YouTube, they want to spread the message to everyone.
Mr. Kolcze says at first he was a bit hesitant to bare all but soon he and the other granddads overcame their shyness.
A survivor of cancer himself, Mr. Kolcze says regular testing is very important. Though there’s no guarantee that you can cure it, but you have a better chance if you detect it early.
Figures show that 90% of participants’ lives would be saved if detected early.
Persons who are 40 and above should be tested regularly each year.
However, if bowel cancer is prevalent in your family, it is recommended that testing be carried out, irrespective of age, as this cancer has genetic connections.
Bowel Scanning has led to a decline in the mortality rate of bowel cancer by up to 30%.
