Investigation Carried out in Stafford Hospital Scandal

Stafford Hospital which is run by the Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust, is blamed of providing awful services to its patients. Both the families of the patients as well as the campaigners filed complaints which further lead to an official enquiry.

The conditions under which the patients were kept were not hygienic in any way. They were kept without sufficient food to eat and water to drink. A report submitted by the Healthcare Commission revealed the fact that sometimes they were told to remain lying in their own muck with nobody to help.

The inquiry was conducted when 400 more people died there between 2005 and 2008, than expected, and some of them died needlessly. Heart monitors were turned off for the simple reason that the nurses were not well acquainted with the usage of the appliance.

The general population is now demanding a full public enquiry into the scandal that took place inside the hospital premises as well as the role of the Trust in the same.

Former Health Secretary Alan Johnson expressed his regret on the same last year and said that there was "a catalogue of individual and systematic failings".
