Sony has said that reports that rumored that the famous Sony Computer Entertainment brand is to be updated as SNEP, Sony Networked Entertainment Platform, was ineffective to any regional Head Q quarter including SCEA and SCEE.

According to Kotaku, it was reported that from April 1st the SCE brand would cease to exist as Sony was preparing to crumb the name in favor of a new division of the company called SNEP which probably would accommodate operations like PlayStation, Bravia and Vaio. But it was confirmed by the SCE UK spokesperson Sony's plans are applicable to Japan only and that the SCE brand is to remain unharmed.

He said, "This is a rather complicated maneuver involving the legal entity SCEI in Japan. It has no effect on are totally unaffected by this".
