Reports have revealed that Jennifer Lopez and Sony's Epic Records have parted ways. The once highly popular and hot singer had started to stage her musical comeback the past year, when she released a new single "Louboutins", and then fell while singing it at November's American Music Awards.
The development probably means that the singer's upcoming compilation 'LOVE?', her seventh studio album, will not be available in stores in April, as had been previously scheduled.
The good news for fans is that Lopez is not walking away from her musical career, as her rep has shared that the singer is currently busy negotiating with another label.
"I am making this statement to put an end to any confusion in regards to my next album, titled 'Love.' I have belonged to the Sony family since the beginning of my career as a singer and together we've had great success. I have fulfilled my contractual responsibilities with Sony/Epic up to this point, and we have both reached friendly terms about my departure from the label. I'm also happy to say that we've found a new home for my album, 'Love,' and that it is slated for release in the summer of 2010", Lopez said in a statement released to the media.
