Kornheiser Suspended by ESPN over Comments about Storm

Host Tony Kornheiser has been suspended by ESPN from the television talk show "Pardon the Interruption" for a period of two weeks for comments that he made on the radio last week about clothes worn by Hannah Storm, the SportsCenter anchor.

The suspension was announced by Kornheiser on Tuesday morning, on his Washington DC radio show, while terming his earlier remarks about Storm as "intemperate and stupid".

"As the result of this, I have been sent to the sidelines of PTI for a while", he said.

In a written released made public on Tuesday, the talk show host's comments were deemed as "inappropriate" by ESPN.

"Hurtful and personal comments such as these are not acceptable and have significant consequences. Tony has been suspended from PTI for two weeks. Hannah is a respected colleague who has been an integral part of the success of our morning SportsCenter", said John Skipper, ESPN's Vice President for Content.
