HealthGrades has recently reported that the Hackensack University Medical Center has been rated among the top 50 hospitals in America.
Hackensack has appeared in the top 50 list, this year, for the 4th time consecutively.
The report involved an analysis, done on of 130 million Medicare patient records, from the fiscal year 1999 to 2008. These ranged from back and neck surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, coronary intervention, gastrointestinal bleeding and heart attack, to hip fracture repair, pancreatitis, prostatectomy, respiratory failure and total hip replacement.
“The ranking puts Hackensack in the top 1 percent of all hospitals in the nation for clinical quality. It’s great. I'm certainly proud of our health care team, because they've really focused on providing patients with the best quality care. The report is a reflection of their hard work, and of them putting the best practices into place”, said Robert Garrett, President and Chief Executive Officer.
