Greg Pusterla, who is a watch commander, warns motorists to slow down as the monsoonal rain kills one in the Northern Territory. A 29-year-old woman was killed driving in heavy rain in Darwin's rural area. The area can face flooding as a tropical low moves southwards.

Greg said, "Increase the distance between the car in front of you and put your headlights on if it looks a bit dark".

Nutwood Downs recorded rainfall with 195 millimeters in the past 24 hours in the Roper-McArthur district. About 150 millimeters of rain is expected in Alice Springs district tomorrow, as the low moves south.

The Bureau of Meteorology's Graeme King said, "It's a big tropical low. We don't normally get them this big up here".

If the rain continued till Monday, it will kill the expectations of thousands of excited spectators, who will flock to Richardson Park in Darwin tomorrow night to watch the North Queensland Cowboys and the Gold Coast Titans play their final trial game.

Though Central Australia has faced a vast flooding, the organizers say that the game will go ahead.
