The Pioneer Valley Hospital's operator has been placed into receivership.
Directors Kerry Ferguson and Daniel Owen of Owen Ferguson Health, appointed an administrator to calculate redundancy for staff.
As per the utterance of the owners of the hospitals, they are laboring to lessen interruption to staff and patients after the company went into receivership. It was found out that a few nurses had not been paid since Christmas, while others have not been paid superannuation for more than 14 months.
Darren Olney Fraser from Australian Public Trustees is of the view that receivers assess the feasibility of the hospital into the future.
He says, "There are some local people that are interested, there is another local hospital that's interested and there are other national operators that are interested, so I have no doubt that we'll be able to get another operator who has the financial capacity to operate the hospital going forward".
He assured that he would work with the receivers to locate new operators for the hospital in Lismore, and that the sale of the Mackay hospital will be carried on.
