Euro3 million 4Q Loss Posted by Deutsche Telekom

Germany's Deutsche Telekom, based in Bonn, provider of mobile phone, landline and Internet access across Europe and operator of T-Mobile in the U. S., lost Euro3 million amid costs of nearly euro500 million related to Greece's financial crisis.

Deutsche Telekom's revenue was up more than half a percent in the final three months to Euro16.2 billion compared with Euro16.1 billion last year.

France Telecom SA and Deutsche Telekom AG continued their focus on cash flow and stable shareholder returns, even as the fallout from the economic crisis continued to weigh on their operations.

France Telecom in addition to tackle social unease in its home market has been under pressure because of the increased competition, price regulation and the effects of the wider economic downturn.

The new Chief Executive Stephane Richard, who would take the control of the office on March 1, faces the task of navigating the company through one of the most difficult social and financial periods in its history.

"Even though the economic environment has stabilized, it remains difficult", Chief Financial Officer Gervais Pellissier said.
