Indiana-based Republic Airways Holdings revealed its intentions of buying Bombardier Inc.'s 40 CS300 jetliners, with options for an additional 40 C-Series of new generation fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly passenger jets worth $3 billion after recently acquiring two airlines this year.
The Executives of Republic addressing the analysts at quarterly conference with Wall Street indicated that to streamline the brand names and to plan the services of Midwest and Frontier airlines, the company is trying to speed up.
Republic Airways currently caters to passenger service of 118 cities in U. S., Canada, Costa Rica and Mexico and it possesses six regional airlines including Chautauqua and Frontier Airlines. The C-Series launched in 2008 use Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1000G engine with 100-to 140-seat market. The C-Series will get functional in 2013.
Addressing at the Wallstreet, Bryan Bedford, Chairman, President and CEO of the company said, "We will get to a unified brand. I can't say yet what it will be but by Labour Day, passengers will have one reservation system and one set of procedures and policies for Republic's lines. Republic selected the Bombardier CSeries jetliners because no other aircraft can match the attributes it brings to the market. The CSeries aircraft will give us a major competitive cost advantage and complement our future growth and development plans".
