Hospital Emergency Waiting Time Would Be Resolved in 4 or 5 Years

Health Minister Yves Bolduc on Friday revealed that number of patients in Quebec's hospital emergency rooms would remodel in coming 4 or 5 years.

Bolduc revealed that the condition has been significantly improving in many states, but the condition is very bad in Montreal and the city's east-end. He showed that the condition at Maisonneuve-Rosemont hospital has been forced by an increase of gastroflu.

Bolduc had also decided to invest for the renovation of the Maisonneuve-Rosemont emergency room.

"In the province of Quebec every year you have 70, 000 more people in the province, and people are older than before. We have to try to catch up for that", said Health Minister Yves Bolduc. Quebec also currently faces a shortage of doctors and nurses.

In this week, 100 out of the 300 patients in the hospital will be shifted in long-term care beds, moved to other facilities. And new emergency department will be introduced.
