A new poll reveals that Canadians are worried that health-care spending would be cut as federal Government is tackling the deficit in budget.
The poll carried out by Ipsos Reid for the Canadian Medical Association reveals that 83% of Canadians are worried about health-care agenda.
"We're still trying to recover from some of the bad decisions that were made in the 1990s and health human resources is the best example I can give of that", said Dr. Anne Doig, President of the Canadian Medical Association.
The survey was conducted of 2,000 Canadians during February 8 and February 15 and showed that around 63% of Canadians encouraged the reduced spending to fight against the deficit. 84% of Canadians dissuades lower health-care spending because of the deficit.
According to the figures, 70% of Canadians have no hopes that health care funding will increase in coming few years due to improving economy.
The polls are subject to a margin of error of 2.18 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
