It has been reported that there had been a huge mistake at the Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital which is located in Canada. The case is a mistaken mastectomy which had been performed by a doctor who had an experience of more than 28 years as a surgeon. The doctor, Barbara Heartwell, mistakenly removed the breast of a woman by surgery after misreading the report of the biopsy, assuming the lump to be cancerous.

The patient also had a double mastectomy with the assurance that she would not be troubled by the disease again and now she is suffering from anxiety after knowing that all of it was for nothing as she did not have cancer.

It was almost the same case with another patient who was informed a month after having a mastectomy performed that her lump was not actually cancerous. The incident was previously unknown but it became public after she went to the media after the other incident.

After further digging, five similar cases by the same doctor were revealed and the hospital is currently being plagued by former patients all anxious to know if they really had cancer.
