Clean technology company Codexis, Inc. has entered into a license pact with Dyadic International (USA), Inc. to take use of Dyadic's C1 expression system for large-scale production of enzymes in certain fields, which will covers segment such as biofuels, chemical and pharmaceutical intermediate production.
Under the arrangement, Codexis Inc. will pay $10 million to Dyadic International Inc. in a license agreement.
Codexis develops biocatalysts used to create chemistry-based manufacturing processes in the life sciences, bio-industrial and chemical marketplaces.
While on the other hand, Dyadicis is engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of biological products using a number of proprietary fungal strains to produce enzymes and other biomaterials.
However Redwood City-based Codexis and Jupiter, Fl.-based Dyadic did not disclose additional terms of the agreement.
Codexis officials hope that Dyadic production system will expand its technology platform, providing improved capability and efficiency in enzyme production across many company’s programs.
