E-Mails Sent to Wrong Users Due to Glitch, Another Facebook Fail
Facebook

Facebook might be the first site we log on to as soon as we get our hands on an internet connection (after work e-mail of course!), but lately, it has been the target of much criticism. More and more glitches and privacy breach incidents are marring the reputation of the most popular social networking website.

Very recently, another technical issue at the back-end ended up confusing and outraging users, with e-mails being sent to wrong receipts.

"During our regular code push early Wednesday evening, a bug caused some misrouting to a small number of users for a short period of time", Facebook spokeswoman said in an official statement.

Despite the fact that the engineers had identified the issue "moments after it began", it did not save many, many users from facing the music, and private conversations ended up becoming public; a development which was much embarrassing for the users as well as Facebook.

What is more irking is that this has been just one of the many outages in recent times. Sometime back, the site made some changes to its settings, which resulted in photographs of users being laid open to public access, despite their settings being private.

Users are now looking for some answers, and hoping that this would stop. Facebook should take some definite steps to ensure that its wide user base is safe, or fans might turn away.
