Paris Hilton Takes on Brazil
Paris Hilton Takes on Brazil

Paris Hilton has found another way to penetrate our column space. Miss Hilton has now started to anger people outside the United States as well.

The Socialite's new raunchy ad campaign for a beer company has got the Brazilian people all worked up.

The commercial shows the 29-year-old heiress wearing "a short black dress preening and rubbing a can of Devassa beer on her, to the delight of onlookers watching through her window". Brazil's Secretariat for Women's Affairs finds the advertisement as derogatory for women.

They are, however, missing the whole point. Set aside the whole "raunchy advertisement" hullabaloo. Paris Hilton is derogatory for women, by herself. But we can give them the benefit of the doubt; it's their first-time-first-hand Paris Hilton experience. They'll get used to it soon. United States can take a sigh of relief though… we got tired of the walking redundancy of human life called Paris Hilton. Brazil can have her for a while, and I'm sure we don't mind.

In the meantime, this is what Hilton Twittered on Friday, "Are they serious? So ridiculous". Now you understand our pain, Paris.

Hilton was in Brazil last week during the Carnival for the opening of the ad campaign. Photos from the launch party showed her crawling on the floor with beer can in hand during the extravagant samba parades. Yeah right, we can imagine. Have a nice time in Brazil, Paris.
