Facebook Bags Another Milestone, Users Not too Happy Though
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg

On February 23, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his team managed to secure a patent for technology which is related to the site's much popular and highly boasted News Feeds. With the move, the website has managed to further secure the foundation of the social network for many, many years to come.

This has definitely been yet another milestone for the most popular social networking website of today, but considering the very recent outages that have happened, it does leave the users wondering on what Facebook is doing to protect its wide user base, in addition to securing its position as the king of the social media circle.

Recently, some technical glitch resulted in a mix-up of e-mails, and messages meant for one person ended up in another’s mailbox. Before that, a sudden shake up of the site's privacy policy resulted in photographs of many users who had marked them as private as easily accessible to many others.

One of the main reasons that Facebook ended up becoming the most preferred social networking website, over its older competitors like Orkut, was the level of protection provided to users. Facebook had always been fiercely protective of the content that users created. But things seem to be changing now.

Is it possible that Facebook has become so huge that it has changed its priorities?

The reason could be anything, but one thing which stands is that the site should now take effective measures to ensure that its users are safe and protected, like they were to begin with.
