The CeBit technology expo 2010, which takes off in Germany this week, will likely witness the unveiling of Intel's latest 10.1-inch touchscreen GigaByte netbook tablet codenamed T1000.
Powered by an Atom 1.66GHz N450 processor, or an optional N470, the T1000's LCD display will boast 1366x768 pixel resolution, which will be compatible with the convertible device's netbook as well as tablet setup.
The other notable features of the T1000 will include - 1GB DDR2 RAM; 250GB 2.5-inch SATA hard-drive; Intel GMA 3150 on the graphics; 1.3 megapixel web cam; and an integrated microphone with two 1.5W speakers.
In terms of connectivity, the forthcoming T1000 will include full support for wireless 802.11b/g/n connectivity; wired 10/100 Ethernet; Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR; 2 USB 2.0 ports; an express card port; audio in/out; an eSATA/USB combo; and a 4 in 1 multiformat card reader;.
Initially, Intel will launch two versions of the T1000 - namely, the T1000x and the T1000p - which will chiefly differ on account of their respective batteries that will eventually affect the overall weight of the netbook tablet.
While the T1000x model of the netbook tablet will feature a 4 cell, 4500mAh Li-ion battery, weighing 1.3kg; the T1000p version will have a 6 cell, 7650mAh Li-ion battery with a 1.48kg weight - thereby implying that better battery life hints at reduced portability of the device.
