Stroke Suffered by Top Intel Executive

Intel Corp. recently shared that one of its top chiefs, Sean Maloney, suffered a stroke and would now be taking medical leave which is expected to last for several months.

53 year old Mr. Maloney is expected to make a full recovery and return to his responsibilities after he completely recuperates. As has been shared by an Intel spokesperson, the stroke occurred last week when Mr. Maloney was at his residence.

A Briton, Mr. Maloney has been serving a Intel's Sales Chief, and has held various top positions at the company. He is a part of a group of Intel Executive Vice Presidents who were given new responsibilities in a restructuring which happened last September.

Mr. Maloney was named the new General Manager in charge of business operations of the Intel Architecture Group, which handles and oversees all major products of the firm.

The company has shared that the prognosis for Mr. Maloney's complete recovery is "excellent".
