As has been revealed by Official Government data, Japan's rate of unemployment reportedly declined to 4.9% during the month of Japan, an improvement of 0.3 percentage points as compared to the previous month.
The recent decline is a substantial improvement from a record high unemployment rate of 5.7% that was hit last July, and is being viewed as another positive sign of economic recovery in the world's second largest economy.
As has been shared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the jobless rate for men declined by 0.1 percentage points to 5.2%, and that for women slipped by 0.5 percentage point to 4.6%.
During the month of January, there were 46 jobs available for every 100 job seekers, which is a significant rise from the 43 jobs recorded during December, the Labour Ministry revealed.
Compared to the same period for last year, however, the rate of jobless has still managed to rise by 460,000, to 3.23 million.
