Toyota Motor Corp. is on its way to roll out an aggressive incentive program for consumers in the U. S. in March, which would include zero percent financing for five years and a two-year free maintenance, a source close to the matter said on Monday.
This comes in fittingly after executives of the Japanese car maker on Monday, stated that the corporation's sales in Europe will take a dip this year due to the expiry of car-scrappage schemes, recession, and the recall, which has hurt customer confidence in the brand.
The source told Reuters that “Toyota will introduce the new zero-percent financing scheme for 60 months on some 2010 model year vehicles, including its most popular Camry and Corolla sedans and other vehicles involved in safety recalls”.
“Returning Toyota customers will also receive a complimentary two-year ‘Toyota Auto Care Premium Package’, that includes oil changes and other maintenance services. Cash rebates ranging from $500 to $3,000 will also be offered depending on vehicles”, the source said.
The new incentives come in as the world's biggest automaker attempts to connect with U. S. consumers after a massive number of safety recalls damaged its reputation and cut into sales.
