Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski's coming National Broadband Plan is revealed to propose over $25 billion as a part of federal spending for high-speed Internet lines and a wireless network for police and firefighters broader plan that appears to be a win for wireless companies.
The FCC's National Broadband Plan is reported to be launched later this month, offering a blueprint for bringing fast and affordable Internet access to more than 90 million Americans.
The plan will also extend offering of myriad ideas for expanding Americans' access to affordable Internet over the next decade.
Mr. Genachowski, last week suggested that Congress spend $12 billion to $16 billion for the wireless Internet network for police and firefighters.
In addition, the plan focuses to assist create jobs provide better access to educational and healthcare services.
As has been shared by various people who have reviewed the plan, the proposal calls for a review of competition among broadband providers and the need for more specific pricing data.
