A Toughbook configuration centre has been opened by Panasonic in collaboration with Sterling IT to help resellers in Italy.
It will be one of the five centers in future which will provide the customers with the option to configure a basic Toughbook model suitable to their requirements. It is based in Wetherill Park.
The semi-rugged Toughbook by Panasonic will be sold for an affordable price and is more likely to be used by mobile workers. John Wood, Toughbook Australia Group Manager affirmed that the configuration center will prove advantageous to its partner.
Sterling IT Managing Director, Mark Pace said, "This allows us to get a bit more exposure in the market by configuring the units as well. Toughbook is growing as a niche product. The biggest advantage to configuring the units in Australia that we'll have over our competitors is that many Government tenders ask what the Australian content of the solution is - it'll help Panasonic do more in the market".
The three out of the 11 staff of Sterling IT will be dedicated towards the Toughbook business.
