The workers can now feel at ease to use smartphones of their own choice. US technology titan Cisco considers that the concerns of corporate IT managers can be put to comfort by letting them use a fresh "Security without Borders" platform, that will help them access the networks smoothly and in a more secure manner.
Tom Gillis, Cisco Vice President of Security Products said, "Mobile devices are like jewelry; it is a fashion item. For me to tell you what kind of jewelry to where is just not possible. I need to be able to give you the ability to use whatever device you want".
Cicso has entered into partnership with handset makers to get hardware well-suited to the borderless platform.
Though Research In Motion may see Cisco's development as a serious threat to its Blackberry, which had monopoly in the market as far as the choice of businesses are concerned.
Gillis demonstrated the system with an iPhone showing that it allows for Web conferencing on smartphones, with connections impeccably switched to laptops or desktops by a wrist-flick signal command.
Smartphones will make the workers more productive at their workplace.
