Windsor has filed a lawsuit against pathologist Olive Williams for mistakes made by her.

Olive Williams had completed her studies from the University of West Indies in 1996. And she was first enrolled as a practitioner in Ontario in 1969. In 1975, she became an expert in anatomical pathology.

In November, Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital started investigating the work of William after a patient was found to have been ill-treated. The hospital said that it is reviewing 15,000 cases till 2003 when Williams started working here.

On 4 January, Williams was suspended from the Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital. Two women had mastectomies at the hospital even though they were not suffering from breast cancer. Mastectomy is a medical term for the surgical removal of one or both the breasts partially or completely. The hospital revealed that it has found 7 serious cases regarding surgery.

A Leamington woman Tuesday who had a surgery revealed that she will sue Olive Williams.

Lawyer Harvey Strosberg said that company's legal action will be different from that malpractice suit as it had affected number of people.
