The Western Australian Government decided to loan more money to the family of a former drug addict in order to assist the second liver transplant life saving surgery. Health Minister, Kim Hames said that $258,000 interest free loan will be provided to Claire Murray, a mother of two, for the organ transplant surgery in Singapore, so that a family member can donate a part of his kidney.
Initially, after the first transplant, Claire Murray resumed her habit of taking drug a year after the surgery, so the transplant failed following which the hospital authorities denied one more transplant.
But now she needs another transplant because of acute organ failure that is the result of her addiction to amphetamine and heroin for 12 long years.
