Napolitano Organizes Contest to Spread Awareness About Cybersecurity

To spread awareness about cybersecurity, Janet Napolitano, Secretary of the Department for Homeland Security, proposes to take a new initiative.

A contest will be organized in order to inspire the National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign Challenge Competition, shared Napolitano while addressing the RSA 2010 conference in San Francisco.

The contest is aimed at inspiring both the business as well as the layman to protect them when they are online.

Secretary Napolitano said, "All Americans have an important role to play in securing our computer systems and cyber networks. We are challenging our nation's best and brightest to utilize their expertise and creativity to devise new ways to engage the public in the shared responsibility of safeguarding our cyber resources and information".

This way the U. S will be able to build a cyber defense team to protect the computer systems of the whole nation.

Napolitano told computer security specialists that they need the best brains to meet the challenge, as without them, it would be a herculean task to do the same.
