Opera, a web browser firm, today morning revealed in an announcement that for the smartphones running on Windows Mobile 5 and 6, Opera Mini 5 beta browser will be provided pre-installed. This comes as a good news for the users as the facility is crowned with the ability of compressing data to 90%, and hence will provide better page-load times, quicker browsing velocity, password managers and speed dialing, etc. Also, at the Mobile World Congress, it was announced by the firm that a mini browser version is being thought of for the iPhone.
Not requiring Java, Opera Mini 5 beta has all functions in the same terms as a Java enabled version does. This step by Opera is its effort to get into the market shares of the pacing mobile internet market.
Dag Olav Norem, Vice President of Products at Opera announced, "Windows Mobile deserves a mobile browser that looks better, handles better and delivers better than the default browser. We are pleased to offer our browser as a native Windows Mobile application".
