President Obama's plan regarding health care seems to be costly, and the Republicans' proposal does not seem to be helping in anyway. They both believe that if competition is opened up across the provinces, the problem is likely to be solved.
But the problem is not yet solved. There are around 30 million people who are uninsured in the country. In fact, people are not getting the insurance coverage from the insurance companies on pre-existing conditions.
The Democrats, it seems, will have to continue by adding capital to national debt, borrowed from China and Saudi Arabia.
According to the study of 102 insurance companies in 2009, led by the AMA, Blue cross has 54% control over the group policy market and 97% control over individual policies in the province. United Health Care has 26% control over the market.
That means 2 companies out of 102 have a control of 80% over the health market in the province. There is competition, but insurance companies are not providing insurance coverage to people. It is quite understandable that it will take time to solve the problem.
