The cancelation of about 250 surgeries at Royal Inland Hospital, due to the discovery of more dirty surgical tools, has raised a doubt in the minds of the Royal Inland's Chief of Surgery who fear that the Kamloops doctors would be reluctant to bring more physicians to the ongoing problems at the hospital.
Recently, due to the presence of Prosthetic cement on a surgical tray, an orthopedic surgeon had to cancel a shoulder operation for a woman.
RIH Chief of Surgery Dr. Simon said, "We made the case to the ministry it's hard to wholeheartedly recruit and retain physicians when they can't really solve the problems they already have".
Shift in funding to the Okanagan, where Kelowna and Vernon hospitals are getting new towers for 429 Million remains another issue of concern.
