Apollo Aiming to Open 3 New Hospitals Across India in One Month

Asia's largest provider of private healthcare, Apollo Group of Hospitals, which boasts a bed strength of over 8,000, would be establishing three new hospitals across the country within a matter of four weeks.

The new establishments would include two Apollo specialty hospitals, one in Hyderabad and another in Secunderabad, in addition to a cancer hospital in Kolkata.

"We are going to open two specialty hospitals in Hyderabad and Secunderabad and a cancer hospital in Kolkata within the next four weeks. These hospitals are a part of our plan to set up 16 new hospitals across the country at an investment of Rs 1800 crore", said Prathap C Reddy, Chairman, Apollo Group of Hospitals.

It has been reported that the three hospitals are currently in various stages of completion, and are expected to be operational by time December 2011 rolls in. These would add nearly 2,000 beds.
