National Highway Traffic Safety Administration had presented a report on Thursday that revealed that more than 60 people have complained about the sudden acceleration in their cars, despite the recall and fixing by Toyota Motor Corp. A number of complaints on accidents and many injuries have been reported.
In scrutinizing these complaints, the federal regulators would be contacting the various motorists to get details of the problems.
"If it appears that a remedy provided by Toyota is not addressing the problem it was intended to fix, NHTSA has the authority to order Toyota to provide a different solution", quoted the agency.
Toyota's officials have explained that they will present full details of the complaint evaluations, shortly.
"Toyota is doing everything it can to ensure that our customers are confident in their vehicles", said the officials. The automobile giant clarified that the sudden acceleration is due to sticking gas pedals or floor mats that can entrap the pedal.
Toyota is obliged to put up a notice for recalling 10 million worldwide.
As per the analysis of the complaints, Toyota cars have also been reporting problems in computer system.
These recalls have hit many varieties of Toyota that include Pontiac Vibe. Toyota is already heading two recalls of around 6 million cars in the U. S.
