AT&T Inc., a global communications holding company, has become the first exclusive smartphone seller of LG Electronics MobileComm’s in the U.S. market.
San Diego-based LG Electronics has inked a deal with AT&T to sell its new LG Incite phone, which uses a Windows Mobile operating system from Microsoft Corp.
The device, based on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, runs on AT&T's high-speed 3G network both domestically and internationally and offers built-in aGPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0. It also is the first LG device to include Windows Media Player 10.
Furthermore, the LG Incite sports a 3-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels (WQVGA), and a 3-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities. The phone includes a microSD memory port, which can support up to 16GB of memory.
The Incite will be sold at AT&T retail stores nationwide and at company’s website for $199.99 with a new two-year agreement and mail-in rebate.
AT&T voice plans begin at $39.99 with monthly enterprise data plans priced at $45 and personal data plans at $30 per month.
Dallas-based AT&T is also the exclusive seller of the iPhone from Apple Inc.
