Theresa Gattung, former CEO of Telecom, has written a book "Bird On a Wire". In this book, the author has shared her personal and professional experiences that she came across while being a part of Telecom, of which she became the youngest and the first female COE at the age of 37. This book will be on the shelves by next Friday.
The executive wages and the executive officers have been accused of being partial towards the female employs by Theresa Gattung, as she says that the males in the organizations had to suffer less inspection as compared to what was faced by the females. She justifies her points by citing her own troubles that she came across in Telecom and with Mr. Reynolds.
She says, "Now that I'm long gone I, along with the rest of the country, wonder about the propriety of a company making half the annual profits it did a few years ago but paying its executives considerably higher salaries. Within two years of me leaving, three-quarters of the top 100 executives were gone. You can't have that happen and potentially not have some consequences".
The work load of heading Telecom has been held responsible by the author for ending her 20 years old relationship with John Savage. In the book, Ms. Gattung also shares the bad time that she faced when she was about to get fired in 2006. She also writes that Mr. Reynolds had to face less intense questioning and that he enjoyed $7m salary and incentive package, the worth of which she questions.
