The Government is focusing on building small homes at cheap rates to help the homeowners who wish to build their dream house in near future.
The new design is inventive, though it uses conventional materials, like brick, timber and a tin roof - and it is available at an easily affordable price of $168,000 to build.
Maurice Williamson, Building and Construction Minister said, "This is a really good example of a stunningly good house, that people are actually going to, even at the low end, be able to have within their range of affordability. For too long we've had a one size fits all, doesn't matter you're building really simple, quite ordinary stuff or really complicated and multi-storey, you've got to go through the same hoops".
Architect Gordon Moller says that it is very cleverly designed and a good design need not be costly. Government will not compromise on the quality of the material that will be used while constructing these homes.
But the building sector is facing new obstacles like multi-proof schemes, where a lot of builders can get only one approval to build many houses of the similar design.
Williamson says, "You should not have to go through the minefield of numbing, almost to the point when it cripples some properties, when you don't need to".
Less of red tapism will allow more and more people to dream about building a cheap and easily affordable house for them.
