China’s Premier Focuses on Stability
growth and development

Social stability is a far-fetched dream in some of the regions of Tibet, and China’s Premier will see to it that more jobs are created in areas which will lead to growth and development.

While addressing about 3,000 deputies in the Great Hall of the People for the opening of the National People's Congress, Wen said, “Everything we do, we do to ensure that the people live a happier life with more dignity and to make our society fairer and more harmonious”.

Heavy security was arranged for the annual session to avoid any kind of interruption. Political activists were cautioned and controlled by the police.

One can see farmers and blue collar workers angered by land seizures or unpaid salaries, becoming violent in many parts of China. Even urban citizens are not untouched by the protest mania.

According to Wen, it is a crucial year, and Chinese are facing complexities which make it difficult for them to overcome the global financial crisis.

Wen is ready to spend good amount of money on pensions, education, health care and subsidies for farmers as he wants equal distribution of wealth and income. Special efforts will be made in order to raise the living standards of the minorities.

Wen said, “We need to take a clear-cut stand against attempts to split the nation, safeguard national unity, and get ethnic minorities and the people of all ethnic groups who live in ethnic minority areas to feel the warmth of the motherland as one large family”.
