A child had been thrown out of a Catholic school in Colorado because his parents are lesbians. The school will not enroll the child even next year.
"The parents are living in open discord with Catholic teaching", stated Denver Archdiocese on Friday.
Only those students are allowed to enroll their names in the school whose parents abide by policies of the school and church, said Archdiocese.
To discuss this issue, a meeting was also held at Wesley Chapel in Boulder on Friday evening.
"This could be one of those moments where the community is holding a mirror up to the church for it to take a look at its policy and reconsider what they've been doing", said Wesley Chapel Pastor Roger Wolsey in the meeting on Friday evening.
Several staff members of the school have been shocked by the decision. A meeting is planned by the parents whose children attend Sacred Heart.
