2K to release first downloadable add-on for ‘BioShock 2’ on March 11

In its recent press release, game publisher 2K revealed that the first downloadable add-on for its shooter `BioShock 2' - the Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack - will hit the markets on March 11.

2K further added that the $4.99-priced add-on - which will be followed by more add-ons for the multiplayer as well as the single-player versions of BioShock 2, in the coming weeks - will arrive on all three platforms: PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

Noting that BioShock 2 was a big winner in the company's fiscal first-quarter earnings report released earlier this week, with almost 3-million units shipped across the three platforms; 2K elaborated that the forthcoming Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack will comprise 20 new trials and third weapons' upgrade, and five new masks.

Furthermore, the add-on package, which is developed by Dark Sector studio Digital Extremes, and is aimed at the BiShock 2's multiplayer mode, will allow players to attain rank 50. The add-on will also mark the unveiling of two new characters - namely, playboy Oscar Calraca, and smuggler Louie McGraff.

About the other add-ons to come, 2K specified that the new packs will include additional narrative, along with new tools and challenges, which will be designed to further stretch out the tragic fall of Rapture.
